My Pennsylvania Favorites

Sorry for so few posts lately! That is because I am just getting back from a trip to Pennsylvania. It was really fun, and my family and I learned a lot of history of the United States.

Some of my favorite places we visited were:

Gettysburg National Park, which also included President Eisenhower’s House (which to me is the dream!)

The US Mint in Philadelphia. Sorry for no pictures they are not allowed.

Independence National Park: Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, The National Constitution Center

Might I add that in Philadelphia our hotel backed up to Christ Church Cemetery where they filmed that big chase seen in National Treasure and Where Ben Franklin is buried. Most importantly I thought it was neat and at times chilling to experience the places that were the foundation to our country.

My favorite food places:

Hershey World, The Chocolate!

Commonwealth, Philadelphia. This neat bar and comfort food place was so yummy! I had some gumbo, while my family also order fish and chips, and a Cajun Po Boy.

Bassett’s Ice Cream, The oldest Ice Cream shop in the US. I took lots of dairy pills to be able to have this amazing cup of Butter Pecan Ice Cream from this family owned Ice Cream shop located in Reading Terminal Market.img_3272img_3271

La Colombe, With my dietary restrictions it is sometimes hard to find places to eat, especially in airports where there are limited menus. I did find this little place in Terminal B of Philadelphia International Airport. Its menu had this beautiful Acai Bowl that was already on the menu according to my dietary restrictions. I just added some spinach to the smoothie part.

We went to many other places on our trip too! I had a lot of fun and I learned a lot. Here is a list of all the places we went to in our week in Pennsylvania: Hershey World, Gettysburg, Eisenhower House, Valley Forge, Sesame Place, Rocky Steps, Please Touch Museum, US Mint, Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, The Constitution Center, Christ Church Cemetery, Reading Terminal Market, Christ Church, and Citizens Bank Park. It is amazing the way a place can impact you, and that is what makes me enjoy the trips and vacations I go on.

Great picture at the end with the flag hanging right over the building where the Declaration of Independence and our constitution were signed!
