I am Blessed

img_4258This is the last day of my series grateful, thankful, and blessed. And I have to say recounting the things I am grateful and thankful for, I see how truly blessed I am. I see all that God as given me: through people, actions, and things. I have so many things to count as blessings or things from above.

I think it is fitting that the last word of this series is “blessed”. It takes into account the meaning of the last two days, it brings to competition those things that I am grateful and thankful for and truly points it all back to Jesus. In the same instance we are now in the season of Christmas, the season where we see more of the blessings God has given to us and the how He is truly the root of all blessings.

Blessings are the things that point us to love, hope, joy, and peace; the themes of Advent. They are the things that bring us together, it is where heaven touches earth. It is where we can see the hand of God in our lives, and see how everything we have is because God sent His son as an infant to one day die upon the cross so that we may be forgiven. This season is the start of the greatest love story ever told and the greatest blessing in our lives as Christians. One that we would want to share with others.

I truly have too many blessings to count, because every single thing in my life whether good or bad is a blessing, because it all points to Jesus.

“The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”- Numbers 6:24-26

Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.-Psalm 34:8

“When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.” —Willie Nelson

“Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.” —Charles Dickens
