So these cookies have been a family favorite for, well, as long as I can remember… but, I also have a family who loves Peanut Butter! These cookies are perfect for the winter season to go along with tea, coffee, or hot chocolate; and they are just perfect to snuggle up with to read a good book or watch a movie.
Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies
1 3/4 cups of flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup of shortening
1/2 cup of peanut butter
2 Tablespoons of Milk
48 Hershey’s Kisses or Brach’s Stars
Shape into balls, roll in sugar. Bake 10-12 minutes at 375 degrees. Top each with a kiss or a piece of chocolate as soon as you remove the cookies from the oven.
I made three batches and by the third batch I ran out of stars so I just put 1/2 a bag of mini chocolate chips in the dough and that seemed to be a good substitute. Although I do prefer the stars the best :)
